It was nearing 9.30pm by the time we left Aunauds. The cool summers air made me shudder slightly causing Sebastian to wrap a protective arm around my shoulders.

"Should we stop for a coffee somewhere?” I asked, feeling slightly giddy from the champagne and elated with the anticipation of a new romance.

He hesitated, unsure of what to answer and then I saw it. The reluctance in his eyes.

"Nia..."

"What is it?" I stopped us from walking and stop in front of him, looking up into his serious light eyes. "Ever since your pager went off you've been off with me."

He shook his head but I continued.

"You have, Sebastian. Was it about me? Because if I'm causing so many problems then I can leave. You'll never have to see..."

"NO!" He growled so angrily that I stepped back away from him. "Damnit Nia, I'm sorry, I just... I just need you to trust me."

"Trust you?" I thought over what he'd just said. Yes I liked him and yes I found him extremely sexy, attractive and mysterious but trust? Trust was something deeper. Something you had to earn We barely knew each other and he was already keeping large secrets, yet he wanted me to trust him.

"It wasn't meant to sound as pathetic as it came out and it’s a big ask, but yes. I need you to trust me. More than you'll probably will ever know."

"What? Why me though? Why not Carly or Becci or…"

“It just has to be you!” He snapped, annoyed for the first time, but the more he spoke the more I wasn't sure if involving myself in a romance with him was the best idea. What did he have to hide? Why would I need to trust him and why couldn’t he just come out and say the damn thing?

I must have been frowning as he reached out to take my hand but I moved t away.

"Please. It's not like that. It's hard to explain right now."

"Then let me help you."

"Not yet, Nia." He whispered sadly as his big black chauffer driven Bentley pulled up alongside us.

I stood watching him, realising that tonight might be the last time I ever saw him. The last time that I got to stand opposite such a handsome man in person. One that actually liked me back just as much as I liked him. One that wasn't bothered how slim I was or the size of my breast. For once, someone liked me for me and I had to let him go.

The driver got out of the car quickly opening the door for us and standing impatiently waiting for us to get in.

"Sir..."

"Just a minute Lawrence."

"You need to..."

"I said, just a minute!" He turned to me, "Listen, I know we've only just met and you don’t yet know who I am, but you don't need to be afraid of me..."

"Mr..."

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath as the driver called him again.

"Let's talk about it in the car." He gestured for me to get in but I shook my head.
